MAY 2012
Friday, May 4, 2012, from 6-9 pm, see “Going Postal,” whimsical pop art postcards by artist Nick Gehlhausen in my gallery. Obey cool. See the world, neatly explained though Nick’s sharp, sensitive and slightly cynical eye.
In other news, come for the grand opening of a new photography studio shared by three talented photographers, including the amazing Paul D’Andrea (if there is a great looking jewelry photo on this website, it was taken by Paul). Take in my exclusive jewelry and sculpture collection and the work of many talented artists and of course, delectable European-style pastries from the Pastry Station. Experience all of this and more in one location, the Circle City Industrial Complex, my gallery “home,” during IDADA’s First Friday Art Tour. Located at 1125 Brookside Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46202. Free event, free parking. Map

JUNE 2012 (sing me the Birthday Song!)
I’ll be at Arrowmont in Gatlinburg, TN, again! This time as Instructor Assistant for (my hero) John Cogswell in the week-long intensive workshop “Delightful, Diminutive Teapots” taking place June 3-9, 2012.
For each donation of $50-99, you will receive a pair of patinated and textured copper “Tea Leaves” earrings on sterling earwires.
For each donation in the amount of $100 or more, you will receive an initial pendant in sterling silver, designed and created by Nancy. Be sure to indicate the initial you would like to have made – there is a place for comments upon checking out with PayPal, or just send Nancy an email by clicking on the “CONTACT” tab to your left.
When donating via PayPal, be sure to include your mailing address so Nancy can send you a personalized Thank You note. Jewelry items may be picked up in Nancy’s studio after her return from Arrowmont unless other arrangements are made. Early donations may be delivered before June 2! Please donate now, and in any amount you choose.
Thank You! Your support of the arts and Nancy’s growth as an artist and metalsmith are genuinely appreciated. A portion of your donation is used to pay for PayPal administration fees.
Also, watch for the publication of “30-Minute Bracelets” by Lark Books in June 2012, where a project of mine will be featured. There is an advance copy in my studio – come by for a “sneak peek.”

On July 21-22 take your fabrication and soldering techniques to the next level in this fun and challenging class!

All students will make a similar pendant to embellish in the style of their choosing on the second day. Soldering, cutting with a jeweler’s saw and precise fitting will also be covered.
Sunday, July 22 - Day 2: Stone Setting Techniques and Embellishments- Learn how to make your own bezels for use with faceted gemstones, called cabochons, and other techniques for setting odd-shaped stones or found objects. Students may also explore flush setting.
Basic metalsmithing skills such as sawing and filing are helpful.
